mlynnsings Her voice seems to be able to go anywhere her heart goes. I love the vocal, the musical track, and the sweetness of the writing.

about

I wrote this song as a love letter to my future self, hoping I can become who I am singing about. I wrote this thinking maybe other people can see themselves in this, too, whether that's currently or aspiring, just as I do.

This song is for anyone who wants to see themselves and the world with kinder eyes. This song is for anyone who has a dream they have been too scared to chase. This song is for my daughter. But most importantly... this song is for me.

lyrics

You’re a wild flower blooming in a desert’s drought
Growing towards the sun though the rain has run out
How do you do it?
How do you do it?

You’re a rosary wrapped around a sinners wrist
Proclaiming that the worst of us are still worth forgiveness
How do you do it?
How do you do it?

Oh, to see how you see…
I bet the world just looks so differently
Oh to be just like you
Doing the things I’ve never known how to
Oh, oh

You say your cup is full no matter what might be in there
It could be filled with water or it could be filled with air
And you would use it
Oh you would use it

You say the light needs dark like a rose needs it’s thorns
There’s beauty in it all, like rainbow after a storm
And you would prove it
Oh, you prove it

Maybe if I stand close enough, you’ll rub off on me
Sprinkle some of your magic dust and I might start changing

about

Jess T Nashville, Tennessee

I spent years telling myself I was not worthy of dreaming. Now I spend my days proving myself wrong and unlearning the mean things I've convinced myself of. If I can relate to just one person with what I write, then I claim it all to be worth it. Stick around if you want to watch me dream, and let me know how I can encourage you to do the same. ... more
